Chapter 96

A Psalm full of praise for God.  A few of the verses:

1 Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! ...

4 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. ...

13 ...for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness. [Psa 96:1, 4, 13b ESV]

2025 - This verse:

5 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. [Psa 96:5 ESV].  A clear statement that a defining characteristic of "a god" is that he creates.  God created all things.  God is a real god.  Idols create nothing.  therefore idols are worthless scarp and not gods.  This sets up a syllogism.

Only real gods can create.

God created the heavens.

Therefore, God is a real god.
